MARUTI SWIFT - BREAKS EVERY RECORD

Maruti Suzuki Swift Review: Maruti Suzuki launched Swift in India in October, 2005 and it already is one of the best selling cars in its category. It has sold nearly 2, 30,000 units in both petrol and diesel version. Recently Suzuki increased its family by adding 3box Dezire to the Swift range.
It is a good looking, large and distinctively designed car loaded with modern technology and features. The car is based on Concept S design unveiled by Suzuki in 2002 Paris Auto Show. It was showcased as Generation IV car in 2004 Paris Auto fair to compete in European B segment.
It has distinctly sporty look, clear headlight and large wheels than usually in cars in the class of subcompacts minis, gives it a looks of sporty and stable cars. The car is quite tall compared to competition also comfortable, roomier and with ample luggage space. It is being manufactured in India, Hungry, Japan and China. In India it was first launched with 1.3 liter, 16 valves, 4 cylinder petrol engines, generating 87 BHP @ 6000 rpm.
Later 1.3 liter 4 cylinder Diesel Multi jet engine generates 75 BHP (55 KW) of power, was also launched which is very popular due to its economy and performance. The ride of the diesel variant in feel and running compared to the petrol engine is smooth to handle even in lower gears. It meets Euro 3 standards.
Maruti Suzuki Swift is equipped with various safety features and well advance equipments. The swift has crash safety as it is equipped with collapsible steering column, Front seat belt, pretension with load limiter and energy absorbing trims. You can also buy petrol version ZXi with dual front airbags, Antilock braking (ABS) with Electronic Brake force distributor (EBD) and brake assist function to make driving safe.
The airbag is currently not available in the diesel option. The Swift’s Antilock Braking System allows you to maintain control on your driving direction in case of sudden braking. It also prevents car from veering off the road. Swift has an antitheft iCat system in VDi, VXi and Zxi Models. It also has key less entry in most of the models.
Maruti Suzuki Swift has also headlamp leveling that allows you to adjust beam depending on load on the car. This ensures optimum visibility during the night. The car has got excellent reviews not only in India but all over the world. The British Autocar magazine gave it 4/5 stars judging as “thoroughly impressive all rounder”. Car India said “Swift has more than its fair share of silicon livery under its hood… and leads charge in the occupant safety stakes by being the first hatchback in the country to have front dual airbags in its specification sheet“.
It is not surprising that Swift has been well received not only by car critics but most importantly by the customers.
Our verdict: Great buy in the economy segment for its safety, leg space and style.
